How it works

• A light sensitive
device receives the
signal & converts it back
into original data.

• This method of using


rapid pulses of light to
transmit information
wirelessly is technically
referred as VLC.
Why to use this technology?

Li-fi also has the potential to


provide increased security.

Wi-fi is a short form of Wireless Fidelity.

Wifi uses electro-magnetic waves at radio


frequencies for data transmission.

Limitations :-

 Light cannot pass through objects.


 High installation cost of VLC.
 Major challenge – how the receiving device will
transmit back to transmitter.
