Camps on 3G and originate voice call

According to the frequency and PSC, We can make sure that the handset camps on 3G.
According to the signaling, the outgoing call setup succeed
Active compressed mode when the coverage below the threshold

The handset active compressed mode and start to measure the GSM neighbor cells when event 2D
occurred.
Start the handover when the target GSM cell is ok

When the GSM coverage is higher than the threshold (-95dBm), the RNC sent message “Handover
from UTRAN Command” to UE and ask the UE to start handover. If the handover is successful, the
UE will send message “Handover Complete”. When handover started, the handset left 3G network.

We can see the GSM information after handover.


Cell reselect from 2G to 3G in idle mode(1/2)

When we dropped the call, the UE camped on 2G first and started cell reselection when received
the 2G system information.

After authentication and security, the handset camped on 3G again.
