A QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH
ABOUT THE AWARENESS OF
GRADE 12 STUDENTS OF
MONTESSORI DE SAGRADA
FAMILIA TOWARDS HIV
INTRODUCTION OF THE PROBLEM
The study aims to determine the awareness of the grade 12 students
about the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

Specifically, aims to answer the following:

1. What are the advantages of knowing HIV?


The purpose of this question is to know their own advantages
regarding about HIV.
2. How can the people lessen the propagation of HIV?
 The purpose of this question is to identify how helpful the
awareness of them in lessening the said diseases.

3. What is the point of view of students about HIV?


 The purpose of this question is to identify their specific thinking
about HIV.
BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT

• There are several cases of HIV here in the


Philippines. In a February 2018 report, the
Philippine Department of Health said
11,103 new cases were reported in 2017,
up 19.85 percent from the 9,264 cases in
2016. (Regencia T., 2018).
BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT
• Because of the rise of HIV cases in the Philippines, the
researchers formulated the questions that are previously
mentioned. The purpose of these questions are to know if
the respondents are aware so that they can contribute to
the lessening of HIV cases. The questions are important
because it will make the respondents’ mind think of HIV to
have an idea on how to reduce the outbreak. HIV
Awareness fits in the field of medicine because HIV is one of
the most destructive global pandemics in history
(DerSarkissian C., 2019) and being aware of it can decrease
the outbreaks.
RESEARCH DESIGN METHODOLOGY
The method that will be used in this study is a cross
sectional research of research survey that one of the
categories of non experimental research. According to Very
Well Mind (2019), this method can be a useful research tool
in many areas of health research. Moreover, Cross sectional
research is a research design that will help the researcher to
know the awareness of their respondents towards HIV.
 The researcher will use survey questionnaire
as their medium in gathering data.
Furthermore, the answers of respondents will
help the researcher to know their awareness
about the HIV and it will be analyzed by
researcher using statistical method to become
more accurate . The researcher will perform
this research in Montessori De Sagrada
Familia (MDSF) as the respondents are from
MDSF community.
