Egypt Civlization

Early Egypt was divided into two kingdoms that were united in 3100 BCE by King Menes, who established the first dynasty and made Memphis the capital. The Egyptian civilization had a hierarchical social class system and believed in many gods and goddesses. They had an elaborate concept of the afterlife where the spirit or "Ka" would journey to the land of the dead, guided by rituals in the Book of the Dead. The Egyptians mummified bodies to preserve them and built pyramids as tombs for rulers to protect their remains.
