MAJOR

PROBLEMS
FACED BY
TEENAGERS
Here is the PowerPoint presentation of
Group-2 of the ISA Project.
Growing up in the modern world can be a
frightening, exciting, and dangerous experience.
Teens today will face many challenges as they
grow towards adulthood. While some of them are
associated with teenage maturity, others are more
modern in nature - worrying about future
education or career counselling for example. The
issues may not seem like a big deal to some
parents, but for teenagers they are very important
issues that affect them in numerous different
ways.

2
Adolescents form two-thirds of our population .
This is a unique group of people with special
needs . So we conducted a survey which aims to
identify the lifestyle and behavioural patterns in
this group of people and subsequently come up
with issues that require special attention.
It also helps us to understand the various
methods adopted by these teens to deal with
their problems.

• The common problems that
teenagers face today are usually
related to:
• Self-Esteem and Body Image
• Stress
• Bullying
• Depression

equipped to do so
•An overwhelming desire to remove
yourself from the friendship
•Feeling isolated or misunderstood

From our survey we found that stress
was a common problem for almost
every teenager.
Causes of Stress in Teenagers
School Pressure
Teenagers often feel stressed about academic and extracurricular
demands,. Students feel pressure to complete daily classwork and
homework assignments, finish projects and study for exams.
Peer Pressure
Peer pressure, bullying on campus and harassment through phone calls,
text messages and email may distract your teen from studying, leading
her to feel additional stress and anxiety.
Family Problems
Arguments with siblings, disagreements with parents over rules and
expectations and the need to consistently care for younger siblings may
also contribute to teen stress. 7
Signs Of Teen Stress
Stress can manifest itself in different ways, mostly emotional
and physical. You can also tell that someone is stressed by

• Bullying occurs when words or actions are repeatedly used to harm
someone’s wellbeing. While there are times we can accidentally say or do
things that are hurtful, it’s important to understand that bullying is
deliberate behaviour. It’s done on purpose to make a person feel
intimidated, threatened or powerless and is often ongoing.

and parents and guardians must cope with the fast pace society especially
now that prevalent technology such as computers is very much in the now,
and teenagers must be; guided accordingly so that their role in the society
will have sense and meaning perhaps as to a contribution
teenager's role in the society is to be vigilant, be aware of what's happening
around him or her as a teenager, and never be a part of the rotten
system of Government in one way or the other and especially
not to get into drugs.
