Drainage Systemtraining

This document provides an overview of training for operating and maintaining the drainage system at JNIA Terminal 3. It describes the key components of the system, including submersible pumps, sanitary fixtures from various manufacturers, and traps. It outlines how waste water flows through the piping network by gravity to the sewerage pumping station and is pumped to waste ponds. The training covers system familiarization, operation instructions, equipment safety guidelines, and basic maintenance procedures.

2
Introduction

The Drainage system caters all the soil & waste water and
AC condensate discharge from the terminal building. All
these unwanted water flows through the piping system by
Gravity.
All Soil, waste water and Condensate drain are being
discharge to the main sewer line in the airside and flows to
the Sewerage pumping station.
The water is then pumped from the sewerage pumping
station to the waste ponds for natural treatment.

CHAPTER-2
SYSTEM TRAINING - OPERATION

19
Operation

The system operation is very basic, all waste water collected

either by floor drain, all type of basins, urinal, water closet,
Cleaner sink, ablution are all collected by the drainage piping
network.
The pipelines are sloped by 1% and the water flows due to
gravity.
All water flow to the manholes located in the Airside and flows up
to the sewerage pumping station. Lastly, the sewerage
submersible pumps – pump the water to the underground piping
which leads to the waste ponds.

20
Operation

The piping are all uPVC pipes except few provisions in the
second floor shell and core area which is cast iron.
The uPVC pipes are manufactured by Marley and the cast iron
are from Saint Gobain.
All external underground piping are from Plasco (Class 34).

A site layout will be shown in the training room to explain the

flow of water from the terminal to the Sewerage pump station
etc.

CHAPTER-4
MAINTENANCE

24
Basic Guidelines:

Proper housekeeping and ensure cleanliness of the Sanitary wares at

all times. In the event that one of the sanitary wares, floor drain has
been clogged, the following step can be applied:
1. Locate the nearest clean out in order to clean the clog.
2. In worst conditions, Water closet can also be pulled out for rodding.
However, sealant must be applied again between the tile and the
WC.
3. Backflow arrestors are also positioned in the main sewer lines, they
can also be checked if blockages occured.
4. Refer to O&M T3-BAM-G99-G0-GE-M-068 for the recommended
maintenance activity for the submersible sewerage pumps.
