Diameter Protocol Introduction
The Diameter protocol is an end-to-end
protocol. The SCTP is used to transmit
subscriber location information, subscription
data, and authentication data between the MME
and the HSS9860 over the IP network so that
the HSS9860 can manage locations, subscription
data, and authentication data.

Mapping Between the IMSIs and the
HSS9860s
The mapping between the IMSIs and the HSS9860s is implemented
based on an IMSIHSS9860 table. In the IMSIHSS9860 table, mappings
between the IMSI prefixes and the HSS9860 domain names and host
names are configured. The mapping process is as follows:
UE
IMSI
IMSIHSS9860 Recorder
IMSI Peer domain Peer

Diameter Configuration Table
When the USN9810 functions as an MME, Diameter protocol layer
information needs to be configured for communicating with other NEs.
During the configuration, the following configuration tables are used:
Configuration Table Field
Local entity table Local entity ID, local entity host name, and local
entity domain name
Peer entity table Peer entity ID and peer entity host name
Diameter route table Route ID, destination domain, and peer entity ID
for the next hop
Diameter link set table Link set ID, local entity ID, peer entity ID, and
link selection mode
Diameter link table Link ID, link set ID, and peer and local entity IP

SCTP Protocol Introduction
The stream control transmission protocol (SCTP) is an IP-
based transmission layer protocol. It provides efficient
and reliable transmission of M2UA, M3UA, IUA, H.248, and
Diameter signaling. Subscriber data is transmitted in
packets.
SCTP advantages
Multi-homing is used.

Host and Endpoint
Host: A host can have one ore more IP addresses configured.
A host is a typical physical entity.
SCTP endpoint: The SCTP endpoint is one of the basic STCP
concepts. An SCTP endpoint is a logical end that sends or receives
SCTP packets. An endpoint is a typical logical entity.

Association and Stream
Stream:
Association: A stream is a path for transmitting
An association is a logical relationship or data in a single direction in an SCTP
path established between two SCTP association. Packets that need to be
endpoints using the four-step transmitted in sequence must be
handshake mechanism. transmitted in the same stream.
