SANGATH BV Doshi

The Sangath architectural office in Ahmedabad, India from 1979-1981 utilized passive solar design strategies. It had a vaulted roof made of clay tiles over a concrete slab to provide insulation. Natural light was diffused into interior spaces through skylights and small openings filled with glass blocks. Ventilation was provided through upper windows to release hot air via stack effect. Local waste materials like stone and tiles were reused in paving and the roof. Landscaping featured a water channel, pots, sculptures, and pond.
