THE FAMILY: Sign of love from womb to
womb
If you have everything and yet you don’t have love and no
one else loves you; you are nothing. A person is by nature a
relational being. He is a being bound-to-the-world and being-
for-the-world. Everyone relates to others. In relating with
others, one can be attracted to and make a very special
relationship which leads to marriage.
Marriage is a long and lasting relationship geared towards
the establishment of the family which is open for procreation
and rearing of children. The family is ordained by God, in
fact, it was in God’s plan that man can have a partner for life
in order to raise a family. The child is not accidental in life of
the husband and wife.
A child is a gift of God, remember not all couples are
blessed with a child. Some of the couple spends a lot of many
just to have a child while others need only to plan for the
number of children. There are families who are rich yet
seldom you can hear them laughing instead of shouting.
CONTEMPORARY HOUSEHOLD SETTING AND
RELATIONSHIP
1. Students Cohabitation. This happens in dormitories
where students from the province opt to stay near the school.
In order to save, some share a bedroom for at least four
nights per week of at least three consecutive months with
someone of the opposite sex. Problem arises when the girl
gets pregnant. The worst possible solution is to abort the
baby.
2. Same-sex Relationship
a. Homosexual relationship. A relationship between a man
with another man. In some societies, homosexual relationship
is accepted. Some people believe that homosexual
relationship is just a part of a multifaceted sexual pattern.
b. Lesbianism. A relationship between a woman with
another woman. Just like a male-to-male relationship,
lesbianism is also practiced and accepted in some societies.
