• It a process through which managers analyses the various factors

weakness so as to meet the opportunities and threat of the
environment.

• A corporate appraisal is examining the operations of an entire


company from different angles.
• The purpose of corporate appraisal is to assess the strength and
weakness of company.

• It is similar to SWOT analysis.

• A corporate appraisal should be one of the first part of preparing a


strategic plan for company.

• It is a strategy tool used to analyze internal firm activities.

• Comparison with one’s own performance over a period of time.

• Comparison can be done to see improvement and pitfall.


Industries Norm

• Comparison with competitor.

• More specially, comparison with strategic groups.


Benchmarking

• Purpose is to find the best performers, so that one could match


own performance with them and even surpass them.
