Some Study On A Framed Structure Subjected To Blast Load

This document summarizes a study on analyzing the dynamic response of a framed structure subjected to blast loading. The study models a 10-story reinforced concrete building in ANSYS and simulates blast loads at different distances from the structure. Key results analyzed include shear stress, total deformation, pressure, and total energy over time. The study finds that as the stand-off distance of the blast increases, the shear stress, deformation, pressure, and total energy absorbed by the structure all decrease significantly.

Different types of Blast loading-

a) Free-air bursts
b) Air bursts
c) Surface bursts
Terminologies of blast loading-

• Stand off distance

• Height of bursts
• Overpressure
• Reflected overpressure
• Side-on over pressure
