Course Synopsis
The aim of this subject is to introduce aspects of electronics
and electrical engineering to students of other engineering
disciplines in the context of applications in their discipline.
This should develop their confidence when interacting with
electrical engineers in industry.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this module, students will be able to:
LO1: Recognise digital logic
LO2: Recognise the principles of how transducers interface to digital computer
systems.
LO3: Evaluate the performance and characteristics of power supply systems
LO4: Explain the principles of electric circuits
LO5: Explain the principles governing the action of: DC and AC circuits,
electric motors, electrical transducers, electric supply systems.
LO6: Recommend different electric circuit theorems to perform calculations

Course delivery (4 Credit Hours)

Assessments
Assignment 10 % (Week 10)
Test 1 : 15 % (Week 8)
Test 2 : 15 % (Week 12)
Final Exam : 60 %
