Topic-32 - Turnout Testing - F

The document discusses turnout testing using ultrasonic flaw detection. It divides the tongue rail into three zones for testing: 1) Zone I - The full width of the rail, which is tested normally using rail testing stipulations. 2) Zone II - Up to the point where a 20mm crystal probe can be placed on the head, which is tested manually using a 70 degree probe. 3) Zone III - The rest of the tongue rail, which is examined visually. Defects found are classified and immediate speed restrictions are imposed if needed.
