Ragging

Ragging refers to any disorderly conduct or act that causes annoyance, hardship, or psychological harm to students. The University Grants Commission (UGC) maintains a 24/7 anti-ragging helpline and recommends punishments such as suspension, dismissal, banning from other institutions, and denial of jobs or passports for those involved in ragging. All students in higher education institutions must submit an annual online anti-ragging affidavit and institutions have committees to prevent ragging.
