PERIODIC TABLE Year 8

This document provides a chemistry lesson plan for year 8 students on the periodic table. The one hour lesson will teach students to identify and write the names and symbols of the first twenty elements, and arrange them in the periodic table. Key concepts covered include the structure of the periodic table with periods and groups, properties of elements in the same group, and rules for chemical symbols. Students will complete an activity to match elements and symbols, and for homework will draw the periodic table with the first twenty elements.
