Present Perfect Continuous

• Is used to talk about how


long an activity has been
in progress before now.
• It also expresses the
duration or length of time
of an activity that began in
the past and is in progress
right now.
Present Perfect Continuous

Example :

a. I have been reading the novel for the past three weeks.
b. She has been waiting for her husband for two hours.
Functions :
a. Declare the activities that have occurred but still continues
until now
b. Emphasize certain duration and still related to current
conditions.
