Manual Muscle Testing: Shoulder Extension

This document provides instructions for manually testing shoulder extension strength. It describes positioning the patient prone with arms at their sides and the therapist standing at the test side. It then explains how to test shoulder extension by having the patient lift their arm off the table while resisting the therapist's attempt to push the arm back down. Strength is graded on a scale of 1 to 5 based on the patient's ability to complete their range of motion and withstand resistance.
