System General
• The project of FM coverage is 5 station
s. Among them, Asosa, Tendaho& Adi
Remets stations will share the transmitt
er room and tower with the TV; Hager
e-Selam& Addis Ababa stations have i
ndependent transmitter room and tower
s. The system plans are different accord
ing to the above cases.
Strcture
• The Emitting station consists of
program input system, transmitting
system (including transmitter,
antenna, feeder, self-supporting tower,
etc), power supply system, remote
control system (microwave
transmission channel), and test
instruments, etc.

Program Source
• self-supporting tower 。
• The transmitting antenna of the transmitti
ng station is an FM band, 4 layer-4 sides,
dipole panel all-directional array, vertical
polarization antenna array. Its gain is 9.6d
Bi and 1-5/8″feeder is used.
• Each station‘s Transmitting Part include :
• 2×3kW main/standby FM TX , Frequency ran
ge 87MHz~108MHz ;
• One RF Coaxial switch ;
• One 6kW 、 50Ω Dummy load 。
Transmitting system
• The main and standby transmitters are co
nnected to transmitting antenna and dummy
load respectively through an RF coaxial swit
ch. Normally, the main transmitter is connect
ed to the antenna. The standby transmitter wi
ll be switched to antenna port when the main
transmitter is broken, and then the main tran
smitter will be maintained through switching
to dummy load. The main and standby trans
mitters are switched by coaxial switch. The c
oaxial switch is controlled by the main trans
mitter automatically or the control command
s sent by remote computers. As soon as the
main transmitter detects that output error or
exciter breakdown have impacted the qualiti
es of broadcast, it will give out commands to
turn the coaxial switch to standby-antenna p
osition. When the standby transmitter has det
ected that it is in the position of connecting a
ntenna, it will turn on and broadcast automat
ically.

Remote Control System
• The system will adopt a wireless di
gital microwave communication l
ink between the transmitter site a
nd the remote control site. The ra
dius of communication should be
at least 20km.
• The system have a remote indicati
on for:
• Status of each transmitter
• Presence of input signal
• Output power level
• Alarm information
• Power Status/commercial line or st
and by generator
