Question:1
Outline the advantages and disadvantages of Mo Cheng’s decision to
pilot her questionnaire with her friends.
 A pilot study is a trial run of the main survey. Feedback from participants informs students on
the clarity & logic of the survey questions or statements & can help students improve the
structure & format of the feedback form.

 The advantages of Mo Cheng’s decision to pilot her questionnaire with her friends are
briefly described below :
a. She can make her survey questions and statements more clarified and logical.
b. Also, she can make her structure & format of the feedback form more effective.
c. She can even modified her questions patterns, structures and many more as per the needs of her
research
d. Finally it will make her research project more perfect that her project tutors will be impress
with her way of conducting her research project.
 Although the advantages and there is some disadvantages of Mo Cheng’s decision to pilot
her questionnaire with her friends that are briefly described below:

a. Her project tutor may find it inappropriate and unethical as well. Ind about the
b. If the project tutor found about this case, her project topic might be rejected and she
might have to start all over again.
c. Her questionnaire theme and concept might be totally copied and represented.
d. Since every researcher have their own view and opinion and way of conducting the
questionnaire process so her friends might give her any wrong response that is wrong in
their opinion but actually right and effective for her.
Question:2
Critically review Mo Cheng’s approach to sampling and her
subsequent data collection strategy. Can Mo Cheng meet her stated
objectives ?
 Mo Cheng’s approach to sampling and her subsequent data collection strategy is new and will not
any effective at all . Because of extend of her knowledge and overwhelming regarding the
research methods texts’ and articles’ references to sampling frames, sampling size calculations
and sampling design. Further her friends are also facing and suffering from the same problem as
her. Moreover, he tried to take samples and collect datas from the past research projects that she
found in the library. But it is also not convinent and reliable at all .
 Yes , Mo Cheng can meet her stated objectives because
a. Finally she take suggestion from her statistician friend about the sampling and further use the
formulas and actually get the actual number of required sample.
b. With the help of her father, she gonna have sampling and get responses from the respondents
within 10 days and could submit earlier.

What advice would you give as Mo Cheng’s project tutor improve
the quality of her study data ? Give reasons for your answers

 As Mo Cheng’s project tutor, I would advice Mo Cheng to attend all lectures , make her own
research topic, good sampling , questionnaires and data analysis methods on her won to improve
the quality of her study data because of the following points;
a. If she had attend all lectures , she could generate and search her own research topics, and could
have good knowledges about sampling and data collections methods & analysis
b. As a free and own new research topic would give a best version of her research project report
rather than anyone else research topic because she would have and collect ideas about that
research topics.
c. Rather than pilot study of her questionnaires and obtaining samples ideas from previous research
projects , her own sampling, data collection and questionnaire methods and ways she shold
learn, generate , develop and apply for best version of her research project
