EGR Check
EGR actual opening value (EGR valve lift sensor output) can be
inspected by comparing with target EGR valve opening value.
Start / Stop checking
Don’t run engine.
Change target value
(0 ~ 100%)
Initialize EGR valve setting
< TOLERANCE >
Difference should be
within 5% for every
designated value.
Fuel Leak Check
Pressure retaining etc. of common rail system can be checked.
Common rail pressure is raised to maximum value (150MPa), then
engine speed is also raised to 1500 rpm automatically.
Warm-up water temp. to 60 deg
Start / Stop checking
Common Rail Pressure Inspection
Fuel system devices function and leakage can be inspected.
(Mainly use for checking after replacing fuel system parts.)
Start / Stop Checking
Change fuel flow rate
(-12 ~ 24%)
Setting and Learning
• Injector Calibration
• Supply Pump Specification Learning
• Making Injector Calibration Data
• System Protection Data Check
• Learning Value Check
Injector Calibration - 1
Input injector calibration data directly into ECU.
< CAUTION >
Input calibration data correctly!
(Hexadecimal number)
Calibration data can be saved
to computer.
Load from Computer

Injector Calibration - 1
< DATA ADMINISTRATION >
Injector calibration data is administrated by KOBELCO server.
If you change calibration data in ECU, it is necessary to report new
calibration data with cylinder number to KOBELCO.
Save new calibration data
to you computer
Check changed
cylinder number
Saved calibration data can be
checked by note pad application.
Injector Calibration - 2
< CALIBRATION DATA LEARNING >
Run engine with 850 rpm or less after input calibration data.
ECU automatically corrects average of calibration data to ideal value,
and learn this correction data.

< PROCEDURE >
Enter “Service Adjust Mode 1” by cluster gauge operation, and
change “Check Injector” to “ON”. Engine will be started by 800 rpm.
Continue engine running for 5 ~ 10 minutes at no load.
Supply Pump Spec Learning - 1
After replacing supply pump, it is necessary to learn the pump
specification to ECU in “J” series engine.
< Learning Condition >
1. Water temp is 60 deg or more. Water and fuel temperature
2. Fuel temp is 30 deg or more. can be confirmed on monitor.
3. No active DTC.
4. Release auto warm-up.
5. Switch off air-con.

Supply Pump Spec Learning - 2
< SELF-RE-LEARNING >
ECU re-learns the supply pump specification automatically by
feedback function of itself if necessary.
However, this self-re-learning function doesn't work if engine speed
is in 850 rpm or more. Therefore, it is necessary to set “Check
Injector” of “Service Adjust Mode 1” to “ON”, start engine by 800
rpm, and continue engine running for 5 ~ 10 minutes at no load.
Perform this “Self-re-learning” or above-mentioned “Supply pump
specification learning” when there is possibility that engine power
has decreased, or result of “Fuel leak check” or “Common rail fuel
pressure manual inspection” exceeds standard value.
