INTRODUCTION
This concept of work from home helps the employees in maintaining work life balance
and at the same time that work responsibilities toward firm are also fulfilled. In today's
growing environment the work from home has emerged as a new trend in which can
easily plug- in and can start their work. This is an agreement between the employer and
employee that provides privilege to conduct job from home. This policy includes eligibility,
responsibilities, expectations and other guidelines. Work from home option helps in
increasing productivity of employees. With this option employees can handle their
personal tasks, spend time with family and support their livelihoods.
TIPS FOR WORK FROM HOME
• Communicate (Virtually): While working from home or at office effective
communication is the key. WFH includes communication through messenger, Skype,
email etc., as face-to- face communication is not possible. Tools like Skype. Zoom
meeting, Microsoft Teams can be used for conducting virtual meetings. Smart phones are
an important for managing urgent tasks while working from home.
• Trust: The most significant and possibly most the hardest part in a WFH setting is trust.
The employers need to trust their employees to perform job. The employers should not
constantly try not track their employees check their online status just to make sure the
employees are working or not. The work results should be analysed, they speak for
themselves.

• Break it down into Task/Projects: Apart from trust, it is important to ensure that the task
allotted are being done. As most of the employees are not comfortable in doing the work
from home, therefore the daily list has to be prepared on what they should work on. This
way both the employer and the employee will be able to focus on the good and avoid
confusions.
• Make sure they have what they need: For a period of time employees home will be their
office so it becomes essential that they are provided with the necessary things like access to
company server, software, VPN. documents, etc. It will lead to effective and efficient work
from home experience for the employees.

COVID-19 “A BIGGEST THREAT”
World is witnessing the impact of Covid-19 on all facts of life, in all countries and in all
industries. No one is certain about how much and how long the impact of the pandemic will
last on the global economy. During the lockdown, Indian IT industry and many big business
firms made employees “Work from Home” (WFH) as per government’s mandate. As a result,
about 90% of employees worked from home with 65% of people work from homes in metros
and rest 35% from homes in small towns.
The survey finds that over 70 per cent of companies’ primary concern in terms of business
continuity is facing further disruptions from a second wave of Covid-19.While there is a focus
on return to work measures, about 21 per cent of the respondents still don’t have a pandemic
plan and process in place.
