England is an island country bounded by Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and the Atlantic Ocean. It has a long history dating back to Paleolithic men and was later settled by Celts, Romans, and Germanic tribes. English culture is marked by its cuisine including fish and chips and its class system. America is the third largest country by size located between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. It has a diverse geography and history of exploration and settlement by Europeans over centuries leading to its independence and development into a modern nation. English is the primary language spoken in both countries and their cultures share traditions but also have distinctive elements like American football versus English cricket.
