MULTIMETER
Is an indispensable for a technician as firearms for a
Soldier. The interpretation of readings gives technician
Clues to trouble-shooting.
Zero ohms adjustments:
Use to set the pointer exactly
On zero position at the right
side of meter panel
Zero corrector/Infinity Knob:
Use to set the meter pointer to
Zero position at the left side of
The meter panel
Range selector:
It is used to adjust the proper
Function range for specific
measurement
Dial pointer
use to point or read the measurement
using the meter scale base of the range
and settings you prepared during the test of
a device or line of a voltage.
Dial scale:
shows the value of what is being measured
Voltmeter: is an instrument used in
Measuring voltage or potential
difference
Observed polarity in measuring
DC voltage and current.
Always set at higher range of meter
DC voltage
range
1. Before taking a measurement,
the pointer position should be
confirmed to zero on the top
ohm scale.
2. With the + and – COM terminals
shorted together, the meter is
adjusted by turning the zero
ohm adj. to the right or left in
order to place on zero at right.
3. Always set the meter pointer on
the highest range of there
function, if measuring an unknown
voltage or current.

Voltmeter:
Is used when it is
necessary to
determine the
presence or absence
of an electrical
pressure or voltage on
a unit under test.
Tester has two voltmeter
functions:
1. AC or alternating
current
2. DC or Direct current
DC VOLTMETER:
1. When operating on .1 volt range, we utilize the 10 volts scale and
Shift the decimal two places to the left. (.01 as multiplier )
Range used Scale used Scale reading multiplier Actual reading
DCV/0.1 0-10 4.4 .01 0.44
DC VOLTMETER:
2. If the instrument is
operated on 0.5 v range,
we utilize the 50 v
scale and move the
decimal point two places
to the left.

Range used Scale used Scale reading multiplier Actual reading
DCV/0.1 0-10 4.4 .01 0.44
DCV/.5 0-50 22 .01 0.22
DC VOLTMETER:
3. When VOM is set to 2.5 v
range, we use the 250 v
scale and shift
the decimal point two
laces to d left ( .01 as
multiplier )
