It is an Asian geopolitical


region consisting of two major
zones:
1. The mainland group of
countries that include Myanmar
(Burma), Thailand, Laos,
Cambodia, and Vietnam; and
2. The islands or maritime
countries of Malaysia, Singapore,
Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei,
and East Timor.

It is an island country of Southeast Asia in the


western Pacific Ocean. It is an archipelago consisting
of more than 7,000 islands and islets lying about 500
miles (800 km) off the coast of Vietnam.

The bahay kubo is a stilt


house found in most parts
of the archipelago. And it
has become an iconic
structure that reflects the
local culture and rural lives
of Filipinos.

categorized as wind, string, or
percussion.
Examples:
1. Kulibit- is a zither with bamboo
strings and tubular bamboo
resonators.
2. Git-git- it is a lutes and guitars
made of wood, and a three-string
bowed wooden instrument.
