billion US. Dollars in 2018, from 31.65 billion U.S. dollars in 2016
(Coppola, Daniela. 2020)
• Increased adoption of e-commerce, rising mobile-first consumer behavior,
improving digital payments infrastructure are some of the factors behind the
sharp rise in the momentum of this growth
• The e-pharmacy market is expected to grow further at a substantial pace in
the next four years on the back of the renewed focus of the government and
households on healthcare spending and the faster adoption of the internet
amongst users
• It will not only create value for the customers but also generate a host of B2B
opportunities going forward
PharmPlus: Introduction
• PharmPlus is a traditional, brick and mortar medical supplies supermarket
• They stock all kinds of medicines, bandages, injections, surgical equipment,
etc.
• This project will build an online sales and management platform for the
offline Medical supplies Store, PharmPlus
• In addition to facilitating online sales and invoicing, this system will also
enable the management team to plan and strategize their operations,
inventory, cataloguing, delivery and logistics
• This system will setup an online sales channel through a Website and enable
Online sales for medical supplies of all categories
• The system will also assist in stocking and purchase management,
cataloguing, inventory management
• The logistics and dispatch will also be managed by the sales platform
PharmPlus: Objectives
Primary Objective
• This project’s Primary objective is to enable online Sales for PharmPlus®
and enable Planning, Strategical, Analytical and Operational capabilities for
the business.
Secondary Objectives
• Setting up project costing, plan and schedule
• Purchase and Setup the required IT Hardware
• Setup the ERP system that will form the foundation for this It system
• Ensure High Quality delivery
PharmPlus: Features
• The PharmPlus system will provide greater access to the user than the other
systems currently in use by the Medical Supplies Store
• It would provide a greater tracking system to track the user's order and stores
the user's data for future use
• The PIMS is designed so that it has various layers of verification system to
make sure the customer's data is safe inside the system
• PIMS verification system includes multiple steps, such as entering the
verification code, which would be sent to the registered number to confirm
the order of supplies and receiving the payment receipt after the payment is
made for the supplies
• PharmPlus will play an essential role in the administration of drug
management
PharmPlus: Features
• It will help the stores and the drug regulators to keep track record of all the
drug transactions
• The system will record when the medicine has been ordered, when the
supplies are out of stock, the re-ordering period of medicines, and the
medicines' expiry date
• The PharmPlus system will also enable stores managements to generate
periodic reports and submit those as required by regulatory and compliance
bodies
• The PharmPlus system will also streamline logistics and drug delivery by
hiring on demand Third Party Logistic Services
• The PharmPlus system will be an operationally efficient, cost saving, new
age marketplace which will help improve the Revenue of the stores by
increasing the coverage area and improving Customer Experience
PharmPlus: Features
• PharmPlus provides functions based on medicines' usage; it will reduce
human errors and facilitate information management
• The system will be able to control all of the inventory control functions. It
will allow the pharmacist to receive a new batch of drugs and remove the
obsolete drugs, and modifies, identifies the drug in the database
• PMS should be able to handle the dispensation process. It will store all of the
patients' data, and the patient can access it anytime. The data will be held in a
summarized format.
• The tracking of the medicines should be made accessible. The purchase and
supply of the medication should be documented and kept safely for future
reference.
• Compared to the manual system, the PIMS will reduce the time spent on
paperwork, concentrating on improving patients' pharmaceutical care,
especially patients' counseling and medication monitoring.
• The Pharmacy must generate reports regarding the supplies as an output
document.
