Research on TTL 1 Terminology

Technology is the sum of techniques, skills, methods, and processes used


in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of
objectives, such as scientific investigation.

Information technology is the use of computers to store, retrieve,


transmit, and manipulate data or information. IT is typically used within
the context of business operations as opposed to personal or
entertainment technologies.
Information and communications technology (ICT) is an extensional term
for information technology (IT) that stresses the role of unified
communications and the integration of telecommunications (telephone lines
and wireless signals) and computers etc.

Educational technology is the combined use of computer hardware,


software, and educational theory and practice to facilitate learning.
Instructional technology is the branch of education concerned with
the scientific study of instructional design and development. 

Media is the communication outlets or tools used to store and deliver


information or data.
Educational media refers to channels of communication that carry
messages with an instructional purpose

Instructional Media encompasses all the materials and physical means


an instructor might use to implement instruction and facilitate students'
achievement of instructional objectives.
Instructional Materials, also known as Teaching/Learning Materials, are
any collection of materials including animate and inanimate objects and
human and non-human resources that a teacher may use in teaching
and learning situations to help achieve desired learning objectives.
