What is a bearings ?
A bearing is a
Machine element that
constrains relative
motion to only the
desired motion, and
reduces friction betwe
en moving parts.
What are the bearing
types?
A. Ball Bearings
Ball Bearings utilize balls
as the rolling
elements. They are
characterized by point
contact between
the balls and
the raceways. As a rule,
ball bearings rotate very
quickly but cannot
support substantial loads.

B. Roller Bearing
A rolling-element bearing, also
known as a rolling bearing, is a

The What is seal in bearing?
primary functions of a bearing
seal are to keep lubricant in
the bearing and bearing chamber
contaminants out. ... Bearing type
(rolling or sleeve) Lubricant (oil or
grease) Seal friction and consequent
heating. Shaft surface speed and finish.

What is plumber block?
A pillow block bearing (or Plummer block)
is a pedestal used to provide support for a
rotating shaft with the help of compatible
bearings & various accessories. The
assembly consists of a
mounting block which houses a bearing.
Available Make – JNJ
What is pillow block?
Pillow block bearings are
installed on a surface by driving
a fastener through these small
holes. Pillow blocks work in the
same way as most other
bearings. The shaft of a machine
or object can be inserted into
a pillow block bearing to
improve rotational movement.

What Is LOCK WASHERS?
Nord-Lock wedge-locking
washers utilize tension instead
of friction in order to secure
bolted joints exposed to severe
vibration and dynamic loads.
What is Locating Ring ?
A Locating
Ring (Register Ring) is used to
locate the mold on the stationary
plate (injection side) assuring
that the nozzle on the molding
machine will interface with the
spur bushing allowing plastic to
flow into the mold.

What is Belts?
A belt is a loop of flexible material
used to link two or more rotating shafts
mechanically, most often
parallel. Belts may be used as a source
of motion, to transmit power efficiently
or to track relative movement.
Available Make - Fanner
How Many Types Are Belts have ?
1 Flatbelts
2 V-belts
Standard V-belts
Narrow V-belts
Wide V-belts (variable speed belts)
Double V-belts (hex-belts)
Kraft bands
Poly V-belts (serpentine belts)
3 Round belts
4 Timing belts (synchronous belts)
What Is Oil seals?
Oil seals are used to protect shafts and
bearings from ingress of dirt and foreign
matter and egress of oil or grease. An oil
seal generally consists of an outer
circular metal part and an inner flexible
member that does the actual sealing and
is bonded to the metal part by chemical
adhesive agents.
Makes Available – Rajahans
What is cage in bearings ?
he cage as important part for bearing function
as it
• holds the rolling elements apart in task to avoid
their contact
• holds the rolling elements in equal distances to
improve load distribution
• guides the rolling elements in unloaded bearing
zone
• avoids that rolling elements fall out in special
bearings and supports bearing mounting
1. Steel Cage
Steel cages can be used at operating temperatures up to 300 °C (570 °F).
Sheet steel cages
Stamped sheet steel cages are made of low carbon steel. These lightweight cages have relatively high
strength and, for some bearing types, can be surface treated to further reduce friction and wear in
critical conditions.
.
Machined steel cages
Machined steel cages are normally made of non-alloyed structural steel. To reduce friction and wear,
some machined steel cages are surface treated.
2. Brass Cage
Brass cages can be used at operating temperatures up to 250 °C (480 °F).
Sheet brass cages
Stamped sheet brass cages are used for some small and medium-size bearings. In
applications such as refrigeration compressors that use ammonia, machined brass or
steel cages should be used.
Machined brass cages
Most brass cages are machined from cast or wrought brass. They are unaffected by most
common bearing lubricants, including synthetic oils and greases, and can be cleaned
using organic solvents.
3. Polymer Cage
Polyamide 66
the most commonly used material for injection molded cages. This material, with or
without glass fibers, is characterized by a favorable combination of strength and
elasticity.
Polyamide 46
The permissible operating temperature is 15 °C (25 °F) higher than for glass fibre
reinforced PA66
Polyetheretherketone
The material does not show signs of ageing by temperature or oil additives up to
200 °C (390 °F). However, the maximum temperature for high-speed use is limited to
150 °C (300 °F) as this is the softening temperature of the polymer.

maximum stress load that the unit can “bear” or
9 Very Thin Section hold before the structure fails. It can be
measured by Tensile Strength, Tensile Elongation,
Compressive Strength, Flexural Strength,
Modulus and Hardness.
3. Bore Size of Bearings
Bore Size
(04 and Up:
The third and fourth digit of a bearing number as indicated
Last Digits Multiply Last Two
Numbers by 5 to above refers to the bore size of the bearing. It is the inner
get bore in MM) diameter of the bearing and is measured in millimeters.
From ’00’ to ’03’ the measurements are noted above. From
00 10 ’04’ onward the bore size is equal to five times the third and
forth digit of bearing’s last two numbers
01 12 .
In case there is no fourth digit, then the 3rd digit indicates
02 15
the bore size in mm. For Ex: In case of bearing 625 2RS, the
03 17 bore size of the bearing will be 5mm.
04 (x5) = 20 Thus, we can identify now that in case of bearing 6207ZZ,
the third and fourth digit ‘07’ means the bearing’s bore size
05 (x5) = 25 is 35 mm
(x5) = 30 and so

5. Internal Clearance
Bearing internal clearance means the total
distance through which one bearing ring can be
Interna
moved in relation to the other in the radial
l
Cleara direction (radial internal clearance) or in the axial
nce direction (axial internal clearance).
In almost all applications, the initial clearance in a
C2 : Tight bearing is greater than its running clearance. The
difference is mainly caused by:
C0 : Normal
•The expansion of the inner ring or the compression of
the outer ring reduces the internal clearance.
C3 : Loose
•Bearings generate heat in operation. Differential
thermal expansion of the bearing and mating
C4 : Extra Loose
components influences the internal clearance.
6. Noise and Vibration
Noise /

Z1V1 : Good
Bearing acoustical noise is a function of both
(Internal Factors) the bearing itself and
Z2V2 : Better than Z1V1 (External factors) the way in which it is used.
Bearing noise is not generally influenced by
ABEC precision, they are independent of
Z3V3 : Better than Z2V2

bearing can have a rating of Z2V2 or above.
