• It is a form of expression of one self through rhythmic movement
• It is a form of art that uses movement of the body to express an idea,
emotion, or story.

What is folk dance?

• Folk dance is a cultural art form handed down from one generation to
another. It communicates the customs, beliefs and occupations of the
people of a region or country. Folk dancing belongs to the people.
• Folk dance are traditional dances of a country which evolved naturally
and spontaneously in connection with everyday activites of the
people.
• Folk dances are traditional social expression of ideals mores feelings,
and thoughts of the people or group of the people through body
