Dorze House
The Dorze House is built with woven bamboo,
banana tree fiber textiles, polyester textiles and
stone blocks. The lightweight housing
components can be prefabricated and easily
mounted on site or the entire structure can be
built locally if materials are available. The
doors are made from bamboo canes and woven
carpets that are easy to clean.
Dorze House
The roof and the mesh canopy deflect heat and
keep the interior cool during the day. Mat-lined
gables with small holes keep mosquitos out
while providing natural ventilation and
allowing inhabitants to cook inside. Double
layer walls lined with textiles provide good
insulation.
