Activity Card 1

Read carefully

What did you notice? How the two (2) computers where
connected? They are connected via crossover cable together
directly. Unlike straight-through, in order for the two
computers to be connected, it must be junction in a switch or
router. In a crossover, you can simply redirect the connection
between two similar devices.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

A crossover cable has DIFFERENT ENDS.


Crossover is used to connect two (2) similar Ethernet
devices without hub, switch, or router. (e.g. laptop to
laptop)

the two ends of the cable. The one end can be T568 A and
the other end must be T568 B.

straight-through cable was made. The only difference was
the color-coding procedure.
