With the boom, boom,boom of drums
And the ting, ting, ting of lyres
These sounds filled the air
Hear the mellow festive bells
What a world of happiness
The harmony foretells
Barrio fiesta brings joy to everyone

Generalizations
What are the three sound devices that we have studied today?
Onomatopoeia refers to words that imitate sounds. Examples: Splash,
tinkle
Alliteration is the repetition of vowel sounds in words with different
consonants in a line. Example: Time tells the tales; tinkle, tinkle, tinkle
Assonance is the repetition of vowel sounds in words with different
consonants in a line. Example: Hear the mellow wedding bells. Golden
bells! What a world of happiness their harmony foretells!
EVALUATION
Analyze the sound devices use in the following sentences or
verses. Write onomatopoeia, alliteration or assonance.
1. Peter piper picked a pack of pickled pepper
2. The wings flapped and flapped
3. Ring, ring, ring goes the telephone
4. Hear the lark and harden to the barking of the dark
5. Perfect pieces of pizza for party people to pass around

Write a 4-line one stanza poem about your
favorite place in Batangas City using
different literary sound devices.
