GLOBALIZATION

- is the communication and assimilation among individuals,


ethnicities, races, institution, governments of various nations
supported by technology and compelled by international trade

Due to globalization, the more you become expose to diversity


the valuing uniqueness or differences in gender preferences, color,
age, religious affiliation, ethnicity, education, social and economic
status and political beliefs.
GLOBALIZATION

- It is a process of interaction and integration among people,


companies and governments of different nations.

- A process driven by international trade and investment and


aided by information technology.

- This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on


political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on
human physical well-being in societies around the world.
IMPACTS OF GLOBALIZATION ON
COMMUNICATION
1. Virtual Interaction
 through a computer-generated source helping people communicate virtually.

2. Cultural Awareness in Speech


includes knowledge and understanding of the values and norms of different cultural groups,
recognition of culturally based assumptions and biases and demonstrating skills that meet the need
of clients from a diverse background

3. Cultural Awareness in Body Language


non-verbal communication - eye contact, gestures, and facial expressions can convey powerful
messages.

4. Time Differences

Communication has since increasingly global, blurring
national boundaries. The ability to communicate effectively in
a global setting can be a challenge. To effectively
communicate in a global context, a general understanding of
the differences in conducting communication from one
country to another or from one culture to another help
another avoid miscommunication

of the world and the values, beliefs and behavior patterns

Cultural Barriers to Global Environment
1. Cultural Relativism
refers to not judging a culture to our own standards of what is right or wrong, strange or
normal.

2. Lack of knowledge of other culture


When an individual shows a lack of understanding of other cultures in terms of history, society,
government, and much more.

3. Discrimination and Harassment


it is unlawful to treat a person less favorably on the basis of particular protected attributes such
as a person's sex, race, disability or age.

4. Language difference
having the ability to speak another language that is different from the language used for
instruction or used by the majority of people.
Strategies to become an effective global

4. Learn above cultures and apply what is learn
