presentations or even as a portfolio to use individually, it also supports work done in
demonstrate work they have completed. collaboration on a media rich project.
Sway for Instructional Engagement
Sway allows instructors to create a unique horizontal slideshow with step by step instructions. Teachers
can use it as a procedural document to teach students a specific process. For instance a teacher could
teach the writing process using Sway with embedded video and pictorial examples to guide learners in a
way similar to the way they process information on social media- “swipe left swipe right”. Sway can be
embedded and used in conjunction with other digital tools like a Google slide or PowerPoint to create
icebreakers or brain breaks for an extended presentation.

This format is ideal for an online newsletter. The creative flow allows for a extended but concise
presentation of information that is related like for a school or business newsletter with varying categories
of separate, but related information. Here is an example of a Sway created by (Aguilar, Glenday, IT/HISD)
as a brain break in a multimedia presentation.
