Certificate of Blood Donation
INTRODUCTION

• The term Blood Donation is utilized when an individual intentionally gives blood for
somebody who needs it, potentially emerging because of an ailment. A blood gift is
done in the oversight of a clinical expert and it isn’t just useful for the beneficiary yet,
also helps the benefactor and the general public.

• There are several NGOs which compose blood gift camps occasionally, to support
individuals for blood gift.

• There could be a few distinct prerequisites of blood. The requirement for blood could
emerge because of a disease or a mishap. At all, the explanation could be; blood gift is
the main achievable arrangement. Giving blood is a demonstration of worry for
individuals who are needing life-sparing blood. Nothing could esteem more than blood
for an individual who requires it for sparing his/her own life or for the life of somebody
he/she thinks about.
PROBLEM AND CAUSE OF
THE PROBLEM

Doctors fear that India is more likely to face a scarcity of blood donors in the
coming months due to pandemic and vaccination. Blood banks in India have
already been facing an acute shortage due to increased demand and low
donors, and the entire shortfall comes to over a million units. So, it is critical
to educate people about the importance of donating blood. The fact that
blood cannot be stored indefinitely makes it crucial for us to find ways to carry
out blood donation camps and encourage people to come forward during
these critical times.
OBJECTIVE TO BE ACHIEVED

The objective of the project is to urge the young healthy volunteers to donate
blood.

• Young, healthy donors should voluntarily walk into blood banks to donate
as cancer & Thalassemia patients, accident victims and patients who
undergo emergency surgery are in dire need of blood & its products.

• Attempting mobilizing of donors through intensive awareness activities

utilizing multiple social media platforms.

• Spreading knowledge in rural areas about benefits of blood donation to

both beneficiary and benefactor.
OBJECTIVE TO BE ACHIEVED

• Help the staff of NGOs to make this process of blood donation smooth.

• Create a chain of blood donators by motivating minimum 5 persons and

asking them to motivate at least one person in their community to donate
blood. This can help to create a chain of blood donators and help to
overcome shortage of blood.

• Donating small gifts of appreciation for those who successfully donated

blood and contributed to society.
VARIOUS STEPS TAKEN TO ACHIEVE
THE OBJECTIVE

• To make this project productive I myself successfully donated blood and

encouraged my colleagues and family relatives to do the same. I Volunteer
with the blood service to reach out to members of my community, provide
care to donors, and help manage blood donation sessions/drives. I was
successful in convincing 5-6 people to contribute to this society by donating
their blood.

• I donated my blood and worked with the team of Red Cross Society in my
locality. Red Cross Society is an NGO which promotes several social
activities and blood donation is one such social activity which it promotes. I
was assisted by the Supervisor of the NGO Sir Jinendra Jain who helped me
to promote my project.
VARIOUS STEPS TAKEN TO ACHIEVE
THE OBJECTIVE

Along with this I spreaded awareness about the blood donation via several
social media platforms.

I myself supported the blood camp team by helping them in encouraging

people to donate blood without fear and spread the same knowledge of
donating blood to their relatives and friends to make a chain of blood
donators.
VARIOUS STEPS TAKEN TO ACHIEVE
THE OBJECTIVE

Some of my major steps include-

1) Post on social media after I donated, along with the reason for donating.
2) Wrote a review about the services, fears, assumptions in my mind I
experienced before and after donating my blood. This helped many people
who wanted to donate blood but was having some wrong assumptions in
mind about donating blood.

3) Talked about the importance of donating blood with my family and friends
and the reason for giving someone the gift of life.
VARIOUS STEPS TAKEN TO ACHIEVE
THE OBJECTIVE

4)Spreaded the knowledge of what is been done by the blood we donate and
how it can be Soo important for someone.

5)Publicly pledged to donate blood, double red cells, platelets, and plasma a
certain number of times per year.

6) Facilitate the availability of information about rare blood groups.

7) Donated small gifts of appreciation for those who successfully donated blood
and contributed to society.

8)Started a chain of blood donators by encouraging each person to motivate at

least one person in their life to donate blood and so on.
VARIOUS STEPS TAKEN TO ACHIEVE
THE OBJECTIVE

I shared my takeaways on social media which include-

1)Exercise before donating blood, not afterward.

2)Drink plenty of water.

3)Eat well beforehand.

4)Avoid drinking alcohol the day prior to blood donation.

5)Do not smoke for at least 2 hours before blood donation

6)Increase your fluid intake for the next 24 to 48 hours as it might take around
24 hours for the body to get the fluids retrieved post blood donation.
EFFECTIVENESS OF THE
PROJECT
• I was successful in motivating about 30 people to take good diet and double their
blood cells and platelets so that they can donate their blood in upcoming days.

• About 5 to 6 healthy people donated their blood with my motivation.

• Also, in these 40 days of my work I helped the blood donation team of Red Cross
Society by supervising, encouraging, the people who donate their blood.

• Within this duration of 40 days, I gave all my knowledge and takeaways to the general
public and my community via community group discussions and social media
platforms.

• And most importantly I started a chain of blood donators by encouraging each person
to motivate at least one person in their life to donate blood and so on.

• Soo that more and more people participate in the same.

CONCLUSION
In these 40 days I encouraged many people from my community to donate blood and
propagated knowledge which I gain from my experience to my community.

I learned that blood donation not only helps the receiver but it plays a crucial role in
maintain the health of donor.

In my experience people usually fear to donate blood because of the needle but in
reality, it is not much painful. Any solid person, who isn’t experiencing any sickness, can
give blood and save a life or two without much efforts.

Soo we should donate blood at least once in our life to save critical life of a person and
motivate at least one person in our life to donate blood and ask him to do the same.
This might help to reduce the blood crisis hospitals are facing in this pandemic situation.

I conclude my CDP (Community Development Project) by giving thanks to all the

members who assigned me such a project and the people who helped me throughout
my project which was full of experience and learnings.
