Music Technology
Music technology is the application of technology, such as
computers and software, to the musical arts. Whether it is
the use of sequencer and editing software or electronic
musical devices, musical technology and its definition
expands as technology expands. It is sometimes referred to
as sound technology, but while these two fields are similar,
they are also vastly different. Music technology
encompasses the composition, recording, and playback of
music, while sound technology may only encompass the
production of various sounds.
Assemblage
Assemblage art is a complication of objects which may first
appear to be unrelated. These object are selected by an artist
and presented in an aesthetically intriguing way which
hopefully reminds the viewer of the real world.
Music performance
musical performance, step in the musical process during
which musical ideas are realized and transmitted to a
listener. In Western music, performance is most commonly
viewed as an interpretive art, though it is not always merely
that. Performers to some degree determine aspects of any
music they play. Issues of tempo, phrasing, dynamics, and,
in some types of music, pitches and instrumentation are
subject to a performer’s discretion.
Theatre
Theatre is a collaborative art form which combines words,
voice, movement and visual elements to express meaning.
The field of theatre encompasses not only live improvised
and scripted work, but also dramatic forms such as film,
television and other electronic media. Due to the increasingly
pervasive influence of contemporary theatrical media, theatre
has enormous importance in citizens’ lives. It is not possible
for students to achieve media literacy without understanding
and having hands-on experience with theatre. Theatre is
about the examination and resolution of fundamental human
issues, and is built on understanding and presenting
interactions between people.
Minimaforms
Minimaforms was founded by brothers Stephen and Theodore
Spyropoulos as an experimental art, architecture and design
practice. Using design as a mode of enquiry, the studio explores
projects that can enable new forms of communication.
Embracing a generative and behavioral approach the studio
develops open systems that construct participatory and
interactive frameworks that engage the everyday.
Surrealism or Surreal art
Surrealism aims to revolutionize human experience. It balances
a rational vision of life with one that asserts the power of the
unconscious and dreams. The movement's artists find magic and
strange beauty in the unexpected and the uncanny, the
disregarded and the unconventional.
Op Art Or Optical art
Op art is short for 'optical art'. The word optical is used to
describe things that relate to how we see. Have you seen
an optical Illusion before? Op art works in a similar way.
Artists use shapes, colors and patterns in special ways to
create images that look as if they are moving or blurring.
Op art started in the 1960s and the painting above is by
Bridget Riley who is one of the main op artists.
Pop Art
Pop art is characterized by a deconstruction of images
seen in popular culture television, comic books,
magazines, movies and other various forms of
advertising. These elements were represented objectively
and borrowed the commercial techniques used by the
media from which the subjects were borrowed.
Vlogging
Vlog stands for a video blog or video log, and refers to a type
of blog where most or all of the content is in a video format.
Vlog posts consist of creating a video of yourself where you
talk on a particular subject such as reporting or reviewing a
product or an event. It can even serve as a way to share your
artistic process or provide a tutorial guide on a creative
practice or topic. Some vloggers even use it as a means to
share new performance art or music they have created.
Abstract Art
abstract art, also called nonobjective art or
nonrepresentational art, painting, sculpture, or graphic
art in which the portrayal of things from the visible
world plays little or no part. All art consists largely of
elements that can be called abstract elements of form,
color, line, tone, and texture. Prior to the 20th century
these abstract elements were employed by artists to
describe, illustrate, or reproduce the world of nature and
of human civilization and exposition dominated over
expressive function.
