DIFFERENT TYPES OF

HOUSES
MADE BY – JIVANTIKA SHARMA
CLASS – 5B
KUTCHA HOUSE
 Kutcha houses have thatched
roofs made of bamboo , wood
and straw. The wall of these
houses are plastered with mud.
Kutcha houses are not very
strong and need to be repaired
from time to time . These houses
are found in villages .
PUCCA HOUSES
 Pucca houses are strong
houses. They are made up
of wood,bricks,cement,
iron rods and steel. Flats ,
bunglows are examples of
pucca houses .
IGLOO
 The arctic region is covered with
ice and snow throughout the
year. The eskimos cut blocks of
snow and make dome-shaped
houses of it. These houses are
called igloo. The snow wall
prevents the icy winds from
entering the igloo. The igloo is
always warm and comfortable
from inside .
HOUSEBOAT
 In Kerela and Kashmir,
many people make
houses on boats called
houseboats. These
houseboats are a great
attraction for the tourists
visitng these areas .
HOUSE ON STILTS
 Houses in flood-prone
areas are made on a
raised platform supported
by wooden pillars called
stilts. These houses have
a ladder for reaching the
raised platform. These
types of houses are also
built near sea-shores .
SKYSCRAPER
 In big cities the shortage
of space has led to the
construction of very tall
buildings. These are
called multi-storey
buildings or skyscrapers.
These buildings have
many floors and each
building has a large
number of houses called
flats .
