• Peña was raised in east Los Angeles. He served in the military during the
Vietnam War, but never saw combat] In 1971 he received a Bachelor of Science
degree in Business Administration from San Fernando Valley State College
Early life
• Dan Pena's family was not wealthy. His father, Manuel, was a Lieutenant
Commander in the second world war and later became a CIA agent. Manuel made a
name for himself after the murder of Robert F Kennedy. He was the lead
investigator.
• Manuel was a believer in tough love. During Dan's childhood, Los Angeles became
a crime hotspot. Dan got caught up in this and had to go to jail for alcoholism while
he was still in high school. During his incarceration, Manuel told the police to be
very strict if he steps out of line.
From zero to hero
• Dan Pena started his career by investing $820 in a company whose yearly
turnover was $450 million. The name of the company was Great Western
Resources (GWR), founded in 1980. GWR is a natural resource company
based in Houston. Pena rose to become CEO of the company, a position he
thrived in.
• Upon leaving, Pena created a consultancy firm named, The Guthrie Group. It
launched in 1997 and he is still working on it today as founder and chairman.

• Today Dan Pena has a net worth of around $450 million. He is the CEO
of multiple companies, has authored books, and created the Quantum
Leap Method, which he coaches in Scotland. Pena teaches his students
at Guthrie castle.
Quantum leap method (QLA)
• Pena organizes week-long training seminars for entrepreneurship. His
workshops are guided by the QLA methodology. Participants learn
ideas and strategies to become more successful in business and life. The
lectures include topics such as raising capital, overcoming obstacles
