Overview of the Programme
• This programme offers students to have a diverse approach in the study of Islamic knowledge; an
overall Islamic education that encompasses a deeper understanding in the Arabic language, Islamic
History, Usuluddin, Usul Fiqh, Syariah & many more.
• It fulfills the vision which is to promote the Islamic sciences relevant to contemporary disciplines of
study, and the mission which is to develop an Islamically based integrated holistic approach to
education and career.
• It also offers courses in line with nation’s aspirations such as unity among the races, religious harmony,
and moderation in contemporary religious discourse.
• In addition, it meets the needs of global importance such as providing proper understanding of the
worldview of Islam and endeavoring to regulate global peace and harmony through intellectual Islamic
discourse with other faiths, perspectives and ideologies.
• The Singapore Islamic Scholars and Religious Teachers Association (PERGAS) and the International
Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) are set to enrich the educational landscape of Singapore as this
degree offers new educational, career and employment routes to successful graduates.
About the Programme
Bachelor of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Heritage (Honours)
The programme is offered on a part-time basis in Singapore over a period of 4 years,
with Arabic & English as instructional languages.

The programme is co-managed by PERGAS, and is targeted for working adults in


Singapore.

Successful completion of the programme will lead to the conferment of a Bachelor


of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Heritage (Honours) degree, awarded by IIUM. The
degree conferment & convocation will be held at the campus of IIUM.

Upholding The Legacy Of The Prophets


Admission Requirements
(i) At least 3 principle passes in A Level or similar grades in equivalent qualifications;
     OR
(ii) At least 5 Cs in the GCE ‘O’ level/IGCSE or the equivalent grades in GCSE or other qualifications at par with
GCSE, AND 5 years of working experience AND evidence of non-formal education in Islamic sciences; 
      OR 

(iii) At least 5 Cs in the GCE ‘O’ level/IGCSE or the equivalent grades in GCSE or other qualifications at par with
GCSE, AND Diploma Pendidikan Islam (DPI) of Institut Pengajian Tinggi Islam Al-Zuhri with at least the Jayyid
grade;
     OR 
(iv) At least 5 Cs in the GCE ‘O’ level/IGCSE or the equivalent grades in GCSE or other qualifications at par with
GCSE, AND Certificate of Pre-University 2 in Madrasah Al-Maarif Al-Islamiah or Madrasah Aljunied Al-
Islamiah or Madrasah Alsagoff Al-Islamiah with at least the Jayyid grade;  
    OR
(v) At least 5 Cs in the GCE ‘O’ level/IGCSE or the equivalent grades in GCSE or other qualifications at par with GCSE,
AND Diploma in Islamic Studies from PERGAS with at least the Jayyid grade;
    OR
(vi) At least 5 Cs in the GCE ‘O’ level/IGCSE or the equivalent grades in GCSE or other qualifications at par with
GCSE, AND a diploma from institutions recognized by the Government of Malaysia and the Senate of the
University. 
Language Requirements
• At entry point, students shall possess English proficiency level at Band 5.5 of IELTS or Band 5.5 of
IIUM’s English Proficiency Test (EPT) or other Senate-endorsed equivalent scores.

• At entry point, students shall possess Arabic proficiency level at Band 4 of IIUM’s Arabic Proficiency
Test (APT).

• As graduation requirement, students shall achieve Band 6 of IIUM’s APT before the end of their
studies.

Students who do not meet the minimum language entry requirements


will not be allowed to start the programme.

IIUM Academy may arrange pre-degree Arabic language


enhancement courses if there is a demand for that by the
prospective students. A separate fee is chargeable.
Payment of APT and EPT Fees
• For the first sitting of APT and EPT, no separate payment of the fees is required.

• A student who needs to repeat the APT or EPT will be required to pay MYR450 for each of
the tests. The test is conducted in person at IIUM Campus. Students student will have to
make their own travelling arrangements to come and sit for the test in Kuala Lumpur.

Alternatively, the students may, if the circumstances permit, sit for the tests when the tests
are conducted in Singapore for the subsequent batch(es).

Fulfillment of the language requirements is
