Objectives
• Use Conditional Formatting techniques to provide flexible
highlighting, applying specified formatting.
What is Conditional Formatting
• Conditional formatting is use to highlight any particular cell from a huge
data base and make worksheet easier to understand. It allows the user
automatically apply formatting – such as colors, icons, data bars to one or
more cells based on the cell value.

How to apply conditional Formatting?
• To apply conditional formatting to a cell
or range , we have to select the cell then go to Home Tab ->Styles group->
conditional formatting->drop down -> select a rule from the drop down
->type value in the dialogue box and select format click on ->OK.
Format will be applied, like in the figure we have highlighted
The values that are in between ‘90’ and ‘100’ in red fill.
Conditional Formatting with if Statement

Highlight Cells Rules -> Text that contains

How to remove conditional Formatting?
• To remove conditional formatting
from the selected cells,Sheet or
worksheet we need to go to Styles
group of the Home Tab Conditional
Formatting -> from the drop-down
select Clear Rules ->Select
Appropriate clear rule option,
like in the figure
Conclusion
• So in the conclusion we can say it is a process of visualizing data
to make worksheet easier to understand and makes the work of
formatting effortless, and makes the worksheet autonomous at
real time. So by not wasting any time on formatting out time on
other important things.
