ANALOGY
An analogy is something that shows how two things are alike, but with the
ultimate goal of making a point about this comparison.
The purpose of an analogy is not merely to show, but also to explain.

TYPES OF ANALOGY

Part to Whole- it shows the relationship between an object and its parts.

Degree- it shows a greater or lesser extent.

Function- it shows how something works.

Characteristic- it relates something or someone to what that thing or


person characteristically does.
WHAT IS IT

TYPES OF ANALOGY

Type- it compares terms according to what group they belong to.

Antonym- it shows words which are opposites or nearly opposites of each


other.

Synonym- it shows words which have the same or nearly the same
meaning.

Cause and Effect- it involves a noun or verb that leads to the other word.

Classification- it classifies a word under a group.

Location- it shows where a word commonly found.
