• Under the National Food Security Act, the priority household is
given 5 kg of foodgrains per person per month.

MODERNIZED SCIENTIFIC STORAGE IN FCI
PLAN FOR MODERNIZATION OF STORAGE CAPACITIES
• Construction of steel silos planned.
• To construct four silos of 50000 MT each with railway siding under the DBFOO
(Design Build Finance Own & Operate) mode for storage of wheat.

(Palanpur) issued on 18.07.2020. Expected to be operationalized by
June-2023. However, the progress of project is very slow and
the matter has been referred to FCI Hqrs.
3 Amreli 50,000 Agreement signed on 06.02.2019. Letter of commencement
issued on 17.06.2020. Work is in progress. Expected to be
operationalized by December – 2022.
4 Baroda 50,000 Agreement signed on 26.07.2019. Conditional LoC is issued
on 01.01.2021. Work is in progress. Expected to be
operationalized by June - 2023.
HUB & SPOKE SILOS FOR CONSTRUCTION UNDER DBFOT
MODE IN GUJARAT REGION
• FCI Hqrs, New Delhi has floated the tender for construction of Silos on DBFOT
basis at below mentioned locations under Gujarat Region. Tender has been
opened and is at technical analysis stage.

Spoke Silos proposed for construction under DBFOO
mode in Gujarat Region
• State Level Committee (SLC) in its meeting dated
27.05.2021 had recommended 16 locations with capacity
of 7.5 LMT for construction of Spoke silos under Design,
Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) mode in
Gujarat. 18th High Level Committee (HLC) in its meeting
dated 16.07.2021 has approved the said 16 locations with
capacity of 8 LMT and recommended to Ministry for final
approval.
• FCI Hqrs, New Delhi has floated tender on 21.06.2022 for
construction of Silos under Hub & Spoke model where
Banaskantha (Revenue District), one of the 16 locations
mentioned above, is also included in Project – 3 and last
date for submission of bid is 17.10.2022.
