Background of the study
A supercapacitor is similar to a
capacitor except for the bigger
area of its plates and the smaller
distance between these plates. The
plates are metallic and are soaked
in electrolytes and separated with
a porous thin separator. [1]

Importance of Supercapacitor
• Supercapacitor can store 10 to 100
times more energy per mass than
electrolytic capacitors
• It can accept and deliver charge much
faster than batteries
• It can tolerate many more charge and
discharge cycles than rechargeable
batteries. [2]

Conclusion
• The experimental result shows that PANI-PPy/h-BN exhibits better energy
storage performance compared to other synthesized CPC electrode material as it
has a synergistic effect of co-polymer and h-BN nano composite.
• High capacitive retention was found in PANI-PPy/h-BN because of chain grafting
in co-polymer as well as presence of hexagonal Boron Nitride as refractory
material.
• Good dielectric properties of boron nitride, as it is a layered material with sp 2
hybridization, higher surface area and electric properties favors PANI-PPy/h-BN
as a prospective supercapacitor electrode material in high energy density and
better cyclic retention application like electronic vehicles and portable electronic
devices where renewable energy sources are not feasible to use.
