Pharmaceutical Services
 Should be under registration
 Supply of medicines should be without
delay
 Full fill the requirements of the
pharmacy


Conduct of the Pharmacy
 Dispensing and supply of medicines
should be checked
 Professional character of the pharmacy
 Controlled and supervised by a
pharmacist
Handling of prescription
 Receive prescription without any comment or
discussion regarding efficacy or related things
 This can cause anxiety in patient and may lose
the faith in treatment
 Careful handling of prescription
 Should not add or omit or substitute any
medicines without consent of the doctor
 Patient should be advised by the pharmacist,
how to use medicines and related info
Handling of drugs
 Dispensed correctly and carefully by weighing
and measuring ingredients
 Visual estimation should be avoided
 Substandard and unethical should never be used
to fill the prescription
 Drugs and medicinal preparations should be in
standard quality
 If there is any reasons to believe that such drugs
are required for any abusive purpose of
addiction, these should not be supplied.

 Practical training for trainees
 Provide certificates and credentials

 Should be fair.
 Keep the right quality and quantity.
 Should consider the labor & skills required for
marketing.

 Avoid cut throat competitions
 Avoid imitation or copying of the labels, trade
marks and other signs.
Purchase of Drugs

 Should not purchase any spurious or


substandard drugs
 Always purchase the drugs from genuine and
reputable sources.
 Should not encourage
a. Hawking of drugs
b. Undesirable self medication
c. Distribution of medicines without supervision
Advertising and Displays
 Should not contain the following
1. Disgracing references to other supplies, products,
remedies & treatments.
2. Misleading statements.
3. A guarantee of therapeutic efficacy
4. An offer to refund the money paid
Pharmacist in relation to medical
profession
a. Limitation of professional activity
b. Clandestine arrangements
c. Liaison with public
Limitation of professional activity
 Should not take medical practice of diagnosing
disease and prescribing remedies
 But he can provide first aid to the victim in case of
accidents and emergencies
 In the same way , the medical practitioners should not
take practice of pharmacy by owing drug stores
Clandestine arrangements
 Secret arrangement or contract with physician by
offering him any commission or any advantage.

 Should maintain an interrelationship with medical
profession and people
 Educate the people for healthy and sanitary conditions
of living
 Information acquiring during professional activity
should not disclose to anyone unless required to do so
by the law

feel no hesitation in assuming the
pharmacists oath.
