Raipur Energy Overview & Resources

Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, is emerging as a power hub in India due to its abundant coal resources. Chhattisgarh produces over 50 million tons of coal annually and has an installed power capacity of over 1400 MW across thermal, hydel, and private power plants. However, coal mining and power production also contribute to air pollution issues in Raipur. The government is working to increase renewable energy development and utilize fly ash from coal plants to reduce environmental impacts.
