Science: group common objects found at home and in school according to solids, liquids
and gas, and
Arts: create border showing different kinds of lines as design.

GOAL: Your goal is to create a magazine article about how common objects at home are grouped.
This article must be written on a short bond paper bordered or designed using different kinds
of lines.
ROLE: a young writer, graphic designer

AUDIENCE: Your audience is your editor.

SITUATION: You are advised by your editor to submit an article about how common objects are
grouped at home. The article should be composed of 12 - 15 sentences of different
kinds. Your article should have borders showing different kinds of lines as design.

PRODUCT: a magazine article

Mechanics:
1. Collect common objects at home and classify them as solid, liquid or gas. Label each
classification then take a picture of each. Print/Paste each group of pictures on a clean sheet of
short bond paper.
2. Below each picture, write 4 - 6 sentences of different kinds telling how these objects are grouped.

3. The sentences must be handwritten by the pupil himself/herself in school.
