• The world today works on the numerous energy resources ,this shows how important
it is to conserve our energy sources .
• Renewable over Non Renewable resources.
• This wise choice will help us lead a bright and a safe future.

WHAT IS ENERGY??
• Energy is the capacity to do work.
• Energy can be neither created nor destroyed but only changed from one form to the
other . This principle is known as the conservation of energy.

Energy Consumption means the amount of energy that is being used up by a process
system, appliance or by a person .

CONSERVATION OF ENERGY AT HOME
• Turn off the lights or appliances when you do not need them .
• Replace your light bulbs from the traditional bulbs to Light Emitting Diode (LED) bulbs
which uses 25-80% less electricity .
• Unplug the devices when not in use.
• Refrigerator consumes 18.5% of electricity so ensure the spacing between wall and fridge.
• Maintain your HVAC system properly.

• Make sure that your appliances have the ISI mark as well as energy star rating.

• Install occupancy sensors to automatically turn off the lights.
• Install programmable thermostats.

HOW EXACTLY DOES THIS SOLAR PANEL
WORK AND SOLVE OUR PROBLEM??
• STEP 1:- Sunlight activates the panels (the cells in the panel).
• STEP 2:- The cells produce electrical current .
• STEP 3:- The electrical energy is converted (the electricity generated by the sunlight
on the solar panels is direct current(DC) which is not suitable , hence there is
conversion from DC to AC.
• STEP 4:- The converted electricity powers your home .
• STEP 5:- A net meter measures usage.
