INTRODUCTION:
• Andhra Pradesh economy is mainly based on agriculture and
livestock.
• 60 percent of population is engaged in agriculture and related
activities.
• Major rivers in the state are Godavari, Krishna, Tungabhadra, penna
• AP stands 2nd in egg production, 4th in meat production,5th in milk
production
• Andhra Pradesh aims to train 1.5 lakh farmers in organic farming in
next 3 years
• To increase the production of the agricultural goods, the Government
of Andhra Pradesh has established a separate "Department of
Agriculture" to extend a helping hand to the farmers of the state.
