Environmental diplomacy

Definition
 Environmental diplomacy is the art and practice of managing international environmental
relations to address global challenges(efforts of states to address global environmental
issues).
 It's about finding common ground, fostering cooperation, and crafting policies to safeguard
our shared environment.
Historical perspective
 Truly emerged in 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio
de Janeiro.
 . Also known as the “Earth Summit”.
 David Attenborough(One of the influential actors in environmental diplomacy ).
Global Challenges

 from climate change and biodiversity loss to pollution and resource depletion,
deforestation, desertification, pollution, and waste management.
