SUNNAH RAWATIB

PRAYER
Rawatib sunnah prayer is the sunnah prayer that is
done to accompany the 5 times of fardhu prayer. In
language, rawatib itself means fixed or regular. It can
be said that this rawatib prayer includes sunnah
prayer which is done regularly by the Prophet
Muhammad.

The law of doing the rawatib prayer is divided into


two types, namely sunnah muakkad and ghairu
muakkad. Sunnah muakkad means sunnah prayer
which is highly recommended, while sunnah ghairu
muakkad is sunnah prayer whose position is lighter
than sunnah muakkad.
While the rawatib sunnah prayer itself consists of:

- 2 rak'ahs before Fajr prayer


- 4 rak'ahs or 2 rak'ahs before Dhuhur prayer
- 4 rak'ah or 2 rak'ah after Dhuhur prayer
- 4 rak'ahs or 2 rak'ah before Ashar prayer
- 2 rak'ahs before Maghrib prayer
- 2 rak'ahs after Maghrib prayer
- 2 rak'ahs before Isya‘ prayer
- 2 rak'ahs after Isya‘ prayer

Of the 22 roka’ah of rawatib above, only 10 of them are the sunnah muakkad (because Rosulullah
2015
SAW never left them).

From Ibn Umar that Rosulullah SAW never left prayer 10 rak'ahs (rawatib), namely 2 rak'ahs
before Dzuhur and 2 cycles afterwards, 2 cycles after sunset at his house, 2 cycles after Isha 'at home
him, and 2 rak'ahs before Fajr (HR Imam Bukhari and Muslim).

The 10 rak'ahs which are included in the sunnah muakkad are:

- Two rak'ah before Subuh prayer


- Two rak'ah before dhuhur prayer
- Two rak'ah after dhuhur prayer
- Two rak'ah after Maghrib prayer
- Two rak'ah after the Isya’ prayer

What should be noted is that this rawatib sunnah prayer is not practiced in congregation

It is also very important for us to understand that there is no Ba'diah asar prayer and Ba'diah Fajr,
even if doing so is haram.
Niat Sholat Rawatib Sebelum Maghrib

‫َأَص َّلى ُس َّنَة الَم ْغ ِرِب َر ْك َع َتْيِن َقْبِلَيًة ِهَّلِل َتَع اَلى‬

Ushalli sunnatal maghribi rak'ataini qabliyatan lillaahi ta'aala

Artinya: "Aku niat mengerjakan sholat sunnah dua rakaat sebelum


Maghrib karena Allah Ta'ala."

Niat Sholat Rawatib Sesudah Maghrib

‫َأَص َّلى ُس َّنَة الَم ْغ ِرِب َر ْك َع َتْيِن َبْع ِدَيًة ِهَّلِل َتَع اَلى‬

shalli sunnatal
2015 maghribi rak'ataini
2016 ba'diyatan lillaahi 2017
ta'aala 2018 2019
Artinya: "Aku niat mengerjakan sholat sunnah dua rakaat sesudah
Maghrib karena Allah Ta'ala."
