Mental Health
Mental health is a state of mental well-being that
enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize
their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute
to their community. It is an integral component of
health and well-being that underpins our individual and
collective abilities to make decisions, build
relationships and shape the world we live in.

Sexual Health
Sexual health is fundamental to the overall health and
well-being of individuals, couples and families, and to the
social and economic development of communities and
countries. Sexual health, when viewed affirmatively,
requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality
and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of
having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of
coercion, discrimination and violence.

Solution
Our mental and sexual health are like two sides of the same coin. Issues in one area can easily spill over
and affect the other. For example, stress, anxiety, and depression can zap your libido and make sex less
enjoyable. On the flip side, a healthy sex life with open communication and positive experiences can
boost your self-esteem and overall well-being. Past traumas or negative body image can also lead to
sexual dysfunction.
The good news is, taking care of both aspects reinforces each other. By prioritizing therapy or self-care
practices for your mental health, you can improve your sexual experiences. Likewise, a healthy sex life
can contribute to overall mental well-being. Ultimately, focusing on both mental and sexual health
creates a positive feedback loop, supporting a fulfilling and balanced life.
